This recently renovated thatched cottage offers traditional and comfortable self catering accommodation for 2 people in the crofting township of Uachdar
The Cottage was originally built in 1800's and great care has been taken to maintain its original features. It is however sympathetically furnished with everything required for your stay.
Its location in the centre of Benbecula allows easy access to beaches, lochs, walks and local facilities including a 9 hole golf course. It is also an ideal central base for exploring the surrounding islands of North Uist, Berneray, South Uist and Eriskay which also offer an abundance of local history and bird life including the illusive corncrake and many other species of birds such as golden eagles, sea eagles and hen harriers.
Living Area
The open plan living space is larger than most thatched cottages and is comfortably furnished to a high standard. It offers a solid fuel stove, Sky TV , Broadband internet connection. This accomodatin also has two fold in out king sized sofa beds and can easily sleep six for special occasions
Kitchen Area
Adjoining the living room the kitchen is fitted with a hob, washer, mini oven, microwave oven as well as all the necessary crockery and utensils required. Breakfast bar table allows increased floor space, Also provided are: Iron and board, clothes airer, vacuum cleaner etc
Bedroom
The bedroom is tastefully decorated and is fitted a double bed, bedside tables and a tall boy wardrobe.
Bathroom
A modern bathroom that comprises of a white bathroom suite and electric shower/heated towel rail
Heating
Centre heating in every roomalso has a peat stove in the living room. The water for the bathroom and kitchen is heated by a immersion boiler
Smoking
Non smoking is preferred; however a cleaning charge will be applied if guests wish to do so.
Pets
Pets are welcome although a cleaning charge will also be applied.
Dog owners please note; The cottage is situated on a working croft which houses livestock and poultry. Please supervise dogs suitably.
