Corncrake Cottage is a traditional stone built house situated in the crofting township of North Boisdale, Isle of South Uist, Western Isles. The cottage, with sheltered garden, is ideally located for those wishing to spend time exploring the beautiful islands of South Uist and Eriskay where there are a variety of activities available such as birdwatching, angling and pony trekking. As its name suggests, the elusive Corncrake, a summer migrant from South Africa, can frequently be heard from Corncrake Cottage, as can may other wild birds.
Facilities comprise:
- Fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave oven, washing machine and tumble dryer.
- Lounge with electric fire, tv, video and hi-fi
- Bathroom with bath, electric shower, shaver point and heated towel rail
- Accommodation - one double room, one twin room and one single room with double bunk bed. A cot is available on request.
The house is heated throughout by means of a Total Heating Control system and there is a payphone located in the front porch. For those with children, there is a kids play area outside the cottage.
Private off-road parking is provided and pets are accepted.
